With my blog posts, I hope to give you snapshots of information which allow you to stay abreast and take full advantage of all the possibilities to experience in this majestic area.
THE FOCUS: The subtitle of the blog will be Life and Real Estate: Auburn - Opelika - Lake Martin. I’ll be highlighting upcoming events, spotlighting different eateries and vendors you might want to consider, and occasionally interviewing local personalities. Additionally, I’ll be providing the latest information on the local real estate market and include a few posts beneficial to all homeowners.
ABOUT THE NAME: The name - Coop’s Scoop – stems from two things. One, my first name is Darrell, which begrudging to my mom, I’ve never greatly appreciated. Throughout my life and more satisfying to me, most friends and many acquaintances have referred to me as “Coop,” short for my last name – Cooper. And two, before the world of blogs and when I worked as a school administrator, I published a weekly newsletter – Coop’s Scoop – where I shared a variety of information useful to our staff. It was well received, so I’ll stick with the same name, although it will have a different focus from the prior version.
ABOUT ME: I’m a retired school superintendent and have always held a passion for working with people, especially assisting them in achieving their goals. Approaching my first retirement, I had a strong desire to stay involved in helping people. Playing on that and my life-long interest in real estate, I secured my real estate license in 2018. So, I’m a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Preferred Real Estate in Auburn, AL, which has been the leader in home sales in our area for the past 14 years. I’m happy to serve both buyers and sellers in the Auburn, Opelika, and Lake Martin areas.
